Mosquito Borne Diseases and Prevention Malaria and WNV/EEE Information

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), in coordination with the Florida Department of Health, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Florida Department of Community Affairs, and Florida universities, has adopted an Interagency Arbovirus Response Plan (pdf). During the current year FDACS will be:
- working with local mosquito control districts to provide the public with information on mosquito control operations in areas where arbovirus are found;
- responding to requests for mosquito control assistance in areas lacking mosquito control programs; and
- releasing public information regarding animal health issues and protective measures.
