The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announces the following public meeting of the Subcommittee on Imperiled Species to which all interested persons are invited.

General Topic: The Subcommittee is charged with developing recommendations to the Coordinating Council for Mosquito Control regarding conduct of mosquito control that will: 1) allow for management and recovery of imperiled species by state and federal agencies and 2) allow the Mosquito Control Districts to continue to provide mosquito control as required by State Law under Chapter 388 of the Florida Statues. This meeting will be used to discuss priorities of the subcommittee.

Continuous Courses

Florida Master Naturalist Program is an education program developed by the University of Florida and provided by participating organizations. The program includes courses in three subject areas (or modules). Registration is available through the FMNP website www.MasterNaturalist.org.
CEUs Available: 8 per completion of each module.

DACS Mosquito Identification Training Course will be given on a requested basis, for groups 8 or more, at the Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control’s Mosquito Control Section Classroom, in Tallahassee, FL. There are no registration fees, but classes fill quickly, so contact Dr. Peter Jiang at (850) 922-7011 for registration or more information.
