IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL POTENTIAL CERTIFICATION APPLICANTS: If you pass the certification exam, you must apply for your INITIAL certificate, at a cost of $150.00, within 60 day of receipt of the notification of passing letter (the form - DACS 13608, is sent with your notice). After 60 days, you can still apply for your certificate, but you must include a late fee of $50.00. If you DO NOT APPLY for your certificate within 90 days of notification of passing - YOU WILL HAVE TO RE-EXAMINE.
Current State Law DOES NOT allow the Department to prorate the initial ISSUANCE FEE for the certificate. This means that no one gets a FULL YEAR of use from an initial certificate issuance, but it does affect some exam periods more than others. As an example, IF YOU TAKE ANY OF THE MARCH EXAMS, and pass, you will have to pay the $150.00 fee to have the initial certificate issued AND YOU ARE SUBJECT TO RENEWING the certificate (for another $150.00) on June 1. (We do supply the CEUs needed for your to renew as part of the issuance process).
IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE A CERTIFICATE, and you maintain/renew the certificate annually, any ADDITIONAL categories you obtain are added to the certificate at NO COST - but you must still TIMELY APPLY FOR THE CATEGORY TO BE ADDED TO YOUR CERTIFICATE as stated on the application form.
