Overview of Database Searches

The above databases provide unofficial information related to licensing of pesticide applicators, pesticide dealers, and pest control companies. For official information on agricultural pesticide applicators and pesticide dealers, contact the Bureau of Compliance Monitoring, Pesticide Certification Section at (850) 617-7870. For official information on pest control companies and structural/residential pesticide applicators, contact the Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control, Pest Control Section at (850) 617-7997. For official information on public health pesticide applicators, contact the Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control, Mosquito Control Section at (850) 617-7995.

The CEU Class Search can be used to look up approved Continuing Education Unit classes for pesticide applicator recertification.  The earned CEU database contains online records of CEUs earned by individual pesticide applicators.  The Exam Score Search provides certification exam results for individual examinees.  The licensing database searches provide verification of license status for licensed pest control companies, licensed pesticide dealers. certified/licensed pesticide applicators, registered service technicians, and authorized purchasing agents of licensed restricted use pesticide applicators.

The license and exam information is updated every morning Monday through Friday, not including state holidays, and the information is current as of the evening before.  The CEU class and earned CEU information is updated instantaneously as data is input.

Description of CEU Class Search

This search provides the locations, dates, and titles of training classes approved to issue Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to pesticide applicators licensed under Chapter 487, F.S., for recertification and license renewal. The database can be searched by date range, location (Florida county, Georgia, Alabama, or other states), license category, and sponsoring organization. The detailed screen for each training class gives the class site address, class status (available/full/etc.), number of CEUs approved for each license category, a contact person’s name and phone number, and comments from the education provider (if any). If the education provider submitted the program using the online CEU system and attached an agenda file, the agenda will be available to view. The education provider’s email address and a link to another web site for additional information will also be displayed on the detail screen if entered into the online system by the education provider when submitting the program for CEU approval.

Description of Earned CEU Search

This search stores the number of CEUs earned by individual licensed pesticide applicators at training classes they have attended, if those CEUs have been entered into the system by the education provider. Data entry of earned CEUs is optional for education providers. Only those CEUs that have been entered into the online system by the education providers who presented the training classes will appear in this database. The database will probably not contain all CEUs an individual applicator has earned.

Online records of earned CEUs will be used by the FDACS Pesticide Certification Office as equal to paper copies of CEU Record of Attendance forms to document CEUs earned for pesticide applicator recertification and license renewal under Chapter 487, F.S. If a pesticide applicator has lost his/her CEU Record of Attendance forms, the online record of earned CEUs (if entered into the system) may be substituted for the paper forms.

To search for earned CEUs for an individual pesticide applicator, the license number must be entered in the format:  XX101 where XX=license type prefix and 101=license sequence number (with  no leading zeros).  License type prefixes are:

  • PV = Private RUP License
  • CM = Commercial RUP License
  • PB = Public RUP License
  • JF = Certified Pest Control Operator
  • JE = ID Card Holder / Pest Control
  • JD = ID Card Holder / Fumigation
  • LC = Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance Certification
  • LS = Limited Structural Pest Control Certification
  • LL = Limited Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control Certification
  • PH = Public Health Pest Control License
  • PA = Public Health Aerial Pest Control License

RUP = restricted use pesticide

A new license numbering system was implemented for RUP licenses (license types PV, PB, and CM) in December 2000.  Licenses issued prior to that used a different type of license number, which used a one-digit code to indicate the license type followed by several zeros and then the sequential license number.  Example:  4002789 (now=CM2789).  The old license type codes were 3=private RUP license; 4=commercial RUP license; 5=public RUP license.  That numbering system is no longer used.  All license numbers have been converted to the new format.  When searching our databases by license number, the new license number format must be used.

If a pesticide applicator’s license has been expired for more than one year, the license cannot be renewed, and no earned CEUs can be added to the database for that individual. If the individual needs to be licensed again, a new license must be issued.

A new license numbering system was implemented for restricted use pesticide licenses (license types PV, PB, and CM) in December 2000. Licenses issued prior to that used a different type of license number, which used a one-digit code to indicate the license type followed by several zeroes and then the sequential license number. Example: 4002789 (now = CM2789). The old license type codes were 3=private license; 4=commercial license; 5=public license. That numbering system is no longer used. All license numbers have been converted to the new format. When searching the database by license number, the new license number format must be used.

For restricted use pesticide (RUP) licenses, only individuals with a current license or a license that expired within the past year are shown. The detail screen gives the license issue and expiration dates and the Authorized Purchasing Agents (APAs).
